PART I: PRIMARY AWARDS (TROPHIES)

Determined by popular vote of Annual Show & Sale attendees.

Best in Show

Eligibility: All CCSS members, including Board members.

Best Cactus

Eligibility: CCSS members who are not currently serving on the Board of Directors.

Best Succulent

Eligibility: CCSS members who are not currently serving on the Board of Directors.

Each attendee may cast one ballot for one entry ID. Votes will be counted by entry ID, with exhibitor names concealed until the results are finalized.

PART II: SPECIALTY AWARDS (RIBBONS)

Determined by secret ballot of the CCSS Board of Directors.

Eligibility: All CCSS members, including Board members.

• Award of Excellence (runner-up) – Awarded to an outstanding entry that merits special recognition but does not receive one of the three primary trophies
• Best Seed-Grown Cactus or Succulent
• Best Crested Cactus or Succulent
• Best Variegated Cactus or Succulent
• Best Pachycaul or Caudiciform Succulent
• Best Succulent Bonsai
• Best Staging

Annual dues for Active Members shall be set by the Board of Directors and reported to the membership.

PART III: PARTICIPATION RULES

1. Eligibility – The Show is open to current CCSS members.
2. Entry Limit – Each member may enter up to four plants.
3. Ownership – Each plant must belong to the exhibitor and have been in their care for at least ninety (90) days.
4. Deadline – All entries must be submitted through the CCSS website by the established deadline – five (5) days prior to the event – and remain on display until the Show closes.
5. Entry Ticket – Each plant must have a completed entry ticket with its assigned number, plant name, classification, and applicable specialty categories.
6. Plant Condition – Entries must be healthy, pest-free, clean, securely potted, and safe to display.
7. Illegally Sourced Plants – No field-collected or illegally sourced plants.
8. Voting – Exhibitors may vote, but may not vote for their own plants or campaign for votes.
9. Primary Awards – A plant may receive only one Primary Award: Best in Show, Best Cactus, or Best Succulent.
10. Specialty Awards – A plant may receive one or more Specialty Awards in addition to a Primary Award.
11. Show Committee Authority – The Show Committee reserves the right to verify eligibility, correct classifications, reject unsafe or unhealthy plants, and resolve procedural questions.
